Since renewable energy sources like the sun and wind are not able to churn energy can’t all the time, working together, hydrogen can become an energy carrier storing energy till it is required.
Because hydrogen can be produced from multiple sources, it is easy to generate locally and then distribute to locations where it is needed. It is looked upon as a favorable replacement for today’s fossil fuels as it can greatly reduce dependency on other non renewable energy resources.
